Moving on up!

Staff at Loughborough Building Society in Long Eaton are pictured moving into their temporary new home on Tamworth Road as the Society’s branch refurbishment programme gets underway.

“The Society has had a branch in Long Eaton for over 40 years and it will be the first one to undergo a renovation that will transform it into a ‘21st century facility’”, says Caroline Joyce, operations director at The Loughborough.

“This will feature a more contemporary style and enhanced facilities but still with the personal touch that our members have come to expect from us.”

“A vibrant and flourishing branch network is fundamental to a traditional building society like The Loughborough, which has its roots firmly based in the local community,” she adds. “The investment we’re making in our network underlines the confidence we have that the Society can continue to grow as we recognise the importance of a continuing and enhanced presence on the High Street.”

Caroline went on to say that it would be business as usual for the Society during the six week refurbishment period thanks to the matchmaking skills of local estate agent Robert Jones of Wallace Jones.

“When he heard about our refurb plans, Robert brokered a deal between ourselves and the current owners of the Old Britannic Building on Tamworth Road so we could move in whilst the work is being done and continue to provide a service for our members.

“We were delighted to be able to help,” says Robert. “It’s a great example of people working together to help minimise any inconvenience for local people.”

The Loughborough will close for just two days, from 12 noon on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th January until Monday 31st January whilst staff relocate to the Old Britannic Building.

“We look forward to unveiling the new look branch on 7th March and hosting a housewarming party for our members shortly afterwards,” says Caroline. “Watch this space!”
