The Loughborough appoints new Head of Finance
Back to News & ViewsThe Loughborough Building Society has appointed Stephen Jeffries as its new Head of Finance.
He joins from Barratt Developments PLC, the UK’s leading house builder, where he worked in senior group finance roles at its Leicestershire head office.
Stephen, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, has previously worked for “Big Four” accountancy firms in the East Midlands, latterly as a senior manager in the assurance practice of PwC. The 36-year-old went to Nottingham High School and studied Law at the University of Leeds.
Stephen’s appointment strengthens the Finance team at a time when there is considerable focus on building societies’ internal processes to provide the highest standards of financial management for operational purposes and regulatory reporting.
He said: “I chose The Loughborough because, living in the town and as a member of the Society, I fully understand its appeal. It is well known locally and has been carefully managed through a difficult period for the sector.
“I will help provide a further level of challenge within Finance, whilst bringing new ideas to the management team from my experience in house-building and from advising a range of Midlands companies for over a decade across various industry sectors.”
