With our Funeral Planning service
A little thought now could give you welcome peace of mind
At The Loughborough we appreciate that few of us like to think about our own funeral, but with funeral costs having continued to rise, the average cost of a funeral may be as high as £5,925 by 2024*, so it makes good sense to consider paying towards your funeral arrangements in advance.
The Loughborough Building Society have partnered with Dignity, one of the UK’s leading funeral plan providers, to offer you a funeral plan guaranteed to freeze the cost of the services included in the Plan at today’s prices. At the time the plan is put into motion by your loved ones, Dignity will also provide them with personalised attention and compassionate guidance during an emotional and upsetting time.
We chose Dignity because it is a financially stable company, with a long reliable history. It means Dignity has the stature and capability to stand behind their guarantees even if times are difficult. They have a nationwide network of more than 800 owned or approved funeral directors. You can be assured that they all deliver the same professional and caring service to the families they serve.
Why consider a Prepaid Funeral Plan from Dignity
A funeral plan is a promise to deliver a funeral in the future. With a Prepaid Funeral Plan from Dignity, it’s Dignity who guarantees there’ll be no more to pay for the funeral services covered by the plan. There are four plans to choose from. All the plans guarantee to cover the funeral director fees for arranging and conducting a cremation or burial funeral, no matter how far in the future it may be needed and how much funeral costs may rise in that time.
The Dignity plan allows you to pay for funeral costs in advance. In addition to the funeral directors’ costs, the plan covers the crematorium and Minister fees. Many other funeral plan providers only provide a contribution to these costs. With Dignity, the cremation fees listed as being included in the plan are guaranteed to be covered.
For burial funerals, alongside the guaranteed services of a funeral director, Dignity provides a contribution of £1,220. This can be used towards fees charged by third party providers, such as a minister or officiate, religious and cemetery costs or for purchasing a plot.
Your plan, your way
The Dignity Prepaid Funeral Plan is ideal for making your wishes known to your family. You can personalise your plan to include a favourite hymn, piece of music or reading. You can also pay a contribution up front for more items including extra limousines, floral tributes or a wake. This way you can protect your loved ones from having to cover the full costs when the time comes. Any contributions you make will grow each year with the Retail Price Index (RPI). Unlike some other funeral plan providers, Dignity allows you to update you requests at any time without incurring an administration fee.
If your circumstances change, or you change your mind, Dignity will refund the money you’ve paid. A cancellation fee is only charged if you cancel after 30 days of taking out your plan.
The Dignity Promise
If you choose to pay for your Dignity Funeral Plan over more than 12 months, and pass away before you’ve finished paying for it, Dignity will cover your outstanding balance.
Dignity will not ask your loved ones to pay a penny more than you’ve already paid for all the services included in your plan**
